Their little years, in your own voice.
You will never remember how she said "hopsital". LottaLou is a voice-first family journal: press record, say what happened, and it is kept — written out, gently tidied, with the photos from that afternoon.
Journalling that survives a real week
Typing out the day is the reason most baby books stop in month four. Talking takes twenty seconds, usually while someone is in the bath.
Say it, don't type it
One tap to record. Talk for ten seconds or two minutes — whatever the moment was worth.
Written out, gently tidied
Your recording is transcribed and lightly cleaned up — the ums and false starts removed, your words kept. You can always read the raw version.
Photos, in place
Add the pictures from that afternoon to the entry they belong to, instead of losing them in a camera roll of 14,000.
Shared with the people who love them
Invite the other parent, the grandparents, whoever should be there. They read along, and can add their own moments.
Firsts, quotes and milestones
Mark the first step, the sentence you want to keep exactly as it was said, the height on the doorframe.
A book at the end of the year
Export a journal as a printable photo book, so the year exists somewhere other than a phone.
Twenty seconds, start to kept
No prompts to answer, no fields to fill in. Just tell it.
Press record
Open the app and talk. In the hallway, in the car, in the two minutes before they wake up again.
It writes it down
Your recording comes back as an entry with a title, dated and filed against how old they were that day.
Add the photos
Attach what you took, or take something new. The entry keeps them together.
Everyone sees it
Family you have invited get the moment the same evening, not at the next visit.
Your child's moments stay yours.
Before you put photos of your child into any app, you should know where they go. Here are straight answers to what parents usually want to know.
- Who can see it? Only the people you invite. Nothing is public, and nobody can find your journal by searching.
- Do you sell our data or show ads? No. There are no ads, and we never sell or hand over your family's information. LottaLou is paid for by its subscription, nothing else.
- Are you tracking me? No. There are no tracking or analytics companies built into the app.
- Is AI trained on my child? Never. Your recordings, words and photos are not used to train AI — not by us, and not by the services that help turn your voice into text.
- Is it kept safe? Your journal is stored on secure servers in Europe and protected by EU privacy law.
- Can I take it with me, or delete it? Yes, both. Save your journal as a photo book, a PDF or a Word document whenever you like. And if you ever leave, deleting your account takes a few taps and removes your entries and photos with it.
Want every detail? It is all in our privacy policy.
Questions
When can I use it?
LottaLou is in development. Leave your email and we will write to you when there is a build worth trying — that message is the only thing the list is used for.
Which phones?
iPhone and Android, from the first release.
Is my recording sent somewhere to be transcribed?
Yes — turning speech into text needs a speech-to-text service, and we use one that runs in the EU. It receives the audio and returns the text. The app asks for your permission before the first recording is sent. The privacy policy names the service and says exactly what it gets.
Does AI rewrite what I said?
Lightly. Every entry gets a suggested title and a pass that takes out the ums and the false starts. Your words stay your words, and the original transcript is always kept and always readable.
What will it cost?
There will be a free tier that is genuinely usable and a paid one for more recording time, more journals and more people. Pricing is not final, so we are not going to print a number we will have to change.
Can I get my entries out?
Yes. You can export a journal as a printable photo book, and you can ask us for a copy of your data at any time.
